In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records, and implementing efficient inventory control procedures. This role involves supervising inventory staff, conducting regular inventory counts, resolving discrepancies, and optimizing stock movement to maintain operational efficiency. The Inventory Supervisor works closely with other departments to ensure timely stock replenishment and supports the overall organization of the warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety and company policies. This is a full time, on-site position located in South San Francisco, California.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

At Minimum Duties & Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

  • Oversees the daily operations of the inventory team, ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and adequately stocked.
  • Monitors stock levels and replenishes inventory as needed to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Develops and implements effective inventory management procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conducts regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigates and resolves discrepancies in inventory records and transactions.

Team Supervision:

  • Leads and mentors the inventory control staff, ensuring team productivity, efficiency, and adherence to company policies.
  • Trains and coaches team members on inventory management systems, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Manages the scheduling and workload of inventory personnel to meet operational needs.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Maintains accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Generates reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and discrepancies for management review.
  • Collaborates with other departments (such as purchasing, production, and sales) to optimize inventory levels and address any inventory-related issues.

Inventory Control and Audits:

  • Implements and maintains inventory control policies to minimize stock loss due to damage, theft, or obsolescence.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding inventory control and safety.
  • Participates in internal and external audits of inventory management processes.

Operational Efficiency.

  • Identifies opportunities to streamline inventory processes and improve warehouse organization.
  • Implements inventory tracking technology and methods to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Works closely with the warehouse and shipping teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Assists with transfers between warehouse locations
  • Other Duties as Assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

At Minimum Training, Education & Experience

  • Must be able to train and coach staff regularly
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and team-driven
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to constant change
  • Able to read & write in English
  • Computer skills include email & Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to comprehend & manage effective labor cost control
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and/or carry a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Exemplary supervisory skills
  • Able to deal with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written, oral, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Team cooperation: maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with all employees
  • Spanish is a plus
