Provide short-term case management for victims, survivors, and persons impacted by crime and distressing events on or near the UT-Austin campus, including follow-ups in person, by phone, and email.Serve VAN advocate role including some on-call availability for response on scene on UT campus to victims of crime and distressing events. Supports VAN volunteer advocates with debriefing and processing their VAN responses, either while on call if needed immediately, or during scheduled work hours.Provide crisis support, needs and safety assessment, safety planning, and resource linkage for persons navigating concerns around criminal or traumatic events including (but not limited to) assault, sexual assault, intimate partner or domestic violence, harassment or stalking, fraud, and fatalities. Ability to listen with compassion, empathy, and nonjudgement. Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently and gain the confidence and trust of fellow advocates and survivors through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.Provide ongoing case management, such as coordinating with campus partners or community resources, assistance with Crime Victims Compensation, police interview accompaniment, providing psychoeducation, and brief crisis and emotional support. Must have the capacity to engage with complex clients, skills in active listening, de-escalation, risk assessment, able to build constructive relationships, advocate for change effectively, and document services.Assists Victim Services Unit Supervisor with record keeping, data collection, and administrative duties. Ensures call program is routed daily to ensure VAN operation is maintained. Attends and assists with presentations and VAN promotion at training events, campus meetings, and events as needed. Drive University vehicles. Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4. Conducts clinical supervision of Social Work interns in coordination with their Social Work Practicum placement. (If you have had masters degree in social work for more than 2 years.)Other related duties as assignedMarginal and Incidental FunctionsPerform other related functions as assigned. Work is performed in accordance with normal trade practices and is inspected for conformity to standards, quality and quantity by journey-level employees or supervisor.
