Job Summary:
The Senior Director, Clinical Operations will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the clinical operations of our CARE Community operations. This role requires a strategic and visionary leader with extensive experience in clinical operations management, preferably within an ambulatory, primary care, or outpatient setting. The Senior Director, Clinical Operations will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, optimizing operational efficiencies, and leading change within a team of clinical professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  1. This role assumes full responsibility for operational support enabling clinical teams to meet clinical and non-clinical goals (e.g., patient safety, patient satisfaction) and developing a strategic vision for organizational growth and operational efficiencies.
  2. Works in a dyad relationship with the Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Operations leaders to develop and design the services provided in each office/facility. Will facilitate and execute on, processes needed to support those services as defined by the Gloria Gates CARE leadership team. This includes providing compliance leadership related to governmental, other regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  3. Manages monthly financial and operational reviews.
  4. Assist the marketing department to ensure practices have market presence, proper branding, and the opportunity to increase patient volume.
  5. Provides strategic leadership for developing long-range goals to optimize the clinical operations performance of each office, region, and overall organization.
  6. Evaluate practice productivity and provide recommendations for improvement.
  7. Leads clinic operational teams at all levels to assist physicians, advanced practice providers, non-physician clinical professionals, and staff in understanding group practice patterns, data interpretation, identification of opportunities, and goal setting.
  8. Works collaboratively to set annual expense budget, utilization, and quality targets for identified clinical programs.
  9. Collaborates with medical leadership for advising and facilitating major physician-physician, physician-patient, physician-staff, and interdepartmental concerns, when escalated beyond the departmental level.
  10. Ensure collaboration of clinical and operational teams to maximize the use of Gloria Gates CARE resources and outcomes, including utilization, closing gaps in care, and other vital areas that will drive a positive experience for members through improved health. Share insights with appropriate clinical staff with recommendations for improvement or quality modifications.
  11. Ability to communicate and establish credibility at all levels of the organization.

  1. The Senior Director, Clinical Operations will support the clinical operations leaders and medical staff in fulfilling the roles and responsibilities.
  2. Mobilizes physician leaders around successfully achieving clinical, operational, and strategic priorities for the organization.

  7. Has matrix responsibilities for the clinical teams such as laboratory services, pharmacy services, social workers, and CARE advocates.
  8. Collaborates with other clinical leaders to optimize quality, safety, and patient experience for the organization.

Operations:

  1. Works operations data analytics closely establishes and monitors appropriate clinical parameters that will guide the clinical teams.
  2. Demonstrates and articulates annual quality targets which support system-wide targets and metrics and lead execution throughout the organization.
  3. Serves as leader for safety initiatives in the clinical offices.
  4. Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation-related requirements.
  5. Supports the development and implementation of electronic tools necessary for a data-driven approach to managing cost and quality.
  6. Work closely with the team to help drive operational efficiency to ensure a successful transition and effective problem resolution during the opening of new and existing offices.
  7. Partners with internal teams to successfully onboard new offices, grow existing membership, and add additional service lines.
  8. Proven ability to develop and manage project plans and to communicate needs of plan/budget to key players and senior management.
  9. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively internally with all levels of staff and externally with a wide range of people, including physicians and office staff.

Education:

  1. Minimum of 10 years progressive growth in physician practice management or health care environment.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Health Policy, Nursing, or equivalent level of education or experience.
  3. 5-8 years minimum progressive leadership experience.

Experience:

  1. Demonstrated experience in managing multi-center operations.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to negotiate and build relationships with physicians, physician groups, and other healthcare professionals.
  3. Experience with successfully leading and motivating teams is required.
  4. Must be a critical thinker, able to logically evaluate all aspects of situations and problems, to arrive at optimal solutions.
  5. Must have strong negotiation skills, with the ability to find collaborative and positive outcomes.
  6. Must have a high degree of personal accountability, energy, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  7. Experience in patient care environment.
  8. Leadership skills and behavioral intelligence.
  9. Experience in driving change. “Change Agent”.
  10. Travel is required primarily within the market.
