Job Summary:

The Supervisor, Servers will lead the Server team in the configuration and operation of Infrastructure Services servers. This role involves leading the team in deployment, configuration, and day-to-day operations of centralized, distributed, physical, hypervisor and virtual servers to ensure stability and security. The Supervisor, Servers makes certain that critical issues are tracked, managed, and escalated appropriately and facilitates effective issue resolution in a timely manner.

This position will positively impact University of California, San Francisco's (UCSF) operations and culture by ensuring UCSF's IT infrastructure is operable, secure, efficient, and effective in service of the University's mission.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of experience/training, in one or more of the following fields: computer science, engineering, computer information systems, etc.
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in information technology, infrastructure services, or server administration.
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in managing a team of technical professionals.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to triage and escalate to leadership and management for resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and advance positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baseline knowledge of networking concepts, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and network security.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
