Laboratory director/Jacksonville FL

A laboratory management company is seeking to hire a part-time laboratory director to direct a physician office toxicology laboratory in Jacksonville, FL. Monthly remote review of required CLIA/COLA documentation is available through SharePoint. A compliance specialist and general supervisor review data prior to submission to the lab director. Effective Jan. 1, 2025, CLIA requires two on-site visits. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the management company, which also provides malpractice insurance. Compensation is paid monthly.

General Duties:

• Ensure laboratory testing systems provide quality services in all aspects of test performance.
• Maintain CLIA/COLA highly complex requirements.
• Review and approve policies and procedures.
• Oversee qualifications of laboratory personnel.
• Maintain OSHA requirements.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Review and approve QC, PT, QA, and personnel records.

Education and Certification Requirements:

PhD in Chemistry/Toxicology and NRCC certified with a minimum of two years of experience. Florida lab director certification required.
