Director of Student Ministry
Position Summary: The primary role will be to develop, shepherd, & lead the adult youth ministry team to accomplish ministry goals.
Responsibilities: Youth
Equip and release a team to accomplish the goals of Hope City Youth
-Continue to develop and cultivate specific roles (worship, speaker, events coordinator, small group leader, etc)
-Regularly meet with your team to encourage and build community
Prepare and preach sermons regularly on Wednesday nights
-Create gospel-centric, missional series that will equip students and inspire them to live out their faith
-Calendar speakers in conjunction with your sermon series
Plan a yearly youth calendar
-Gather adults/families who will host quarterly events
-Connect students with churchwide LTC events
-Plan and execute four invite events a year
Contact Work
-Invite kids to Wednesday night at Hope City
-Cultivate an invite culture in Hope City Youth
General Staff Responsibilities:
-Communicate with the Lead Pastor regularly
-Cooperate with other Pastors, Elders, and staff to enrich a healthy work environment
-Participate in team meetings and trainings, as necessary
-Participate in church-wide events (cookouts, conferences, etc…)
Qualifications:
Personal Christian Walk:
-A trusting relationship with Jesus Christ that is demonstrated by a life of intimacy, obedience, and spiritual disciplines.
-Seeks after and follows the leading of the Holy Spirit, does not walk in the fear of man, and walks in humility
Relationships:
-Joyful submission to godly authority
-Friendly, open, honest, seeking community, encouraging, good chemistry with existing teams
-Must be a person of integrity
-Must have healthy relationships with his/her spouse and children and their support for involvement in this ministry
-Leaders are expected to participate in the shared life, personal growth, and accountability of a small group and general church-life
Organizational Skills:
-The ability to maintain a personal schedule for himself, his family, and the regular expectations of ministry
-The ability to organize and communicate clearly and consistently
-Thinks like a high-level manager – always thinking ahead, taking care of details, and leading people
Director Supervisor:
The youth director reports directly to Lead Pastor.
