The University ofIllinois Chicago College of Dentistry (UIC COD) is seeking full-time, Central Sterilization Supply Technicians(Dental Sterilization Techs) to join a worldwide leader in oral healtheducation, clinical care and research that is patient-centered andevidence-based.
The College ofDentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, providescare for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dentaldegrees including DMD, PhD and Master's programs and it is the onlyresearch-oriented dental school in Illinois. Dental SterilizationTechnicians perform all duties associated with the sterilization process anddispensing of dental instruments, supplies and equipment used by the dentalstudents and staff at the College of Dentistry.
Qualifications:
1. High school graduation or GED
2. One (1) year (12 months) of experience in a medical, health care, or laboratory setting or a closely related setting using sterile procedures OR Current certification as a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
The preferredcandidate will have knowledge of dental instrumentation, procedures and dentalmaterials, experience operating sterilizing machines and thermal disinfectorsand knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control procedures.
