Overview:
Allweather Wood Company, LLC (AWW) is seeking an experienced Director, Sales to join our sales team based in Washougal, WA.
The base salary for this position is $130,000.00 to $145,000.00. Your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic locations, skills, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that the range published is the full base salary. We also offer a generous benefits package.
Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.
The Director of Sales will be tasked with achieving sales targets, meeting strategic objectives, and ensuring performance excellence by providing mentorship, guidance, and support. The Director of Sales will play a vital role in maintaining a customer-centric focus throughout all interactions, ensuring that customer needs are prioritized and met with exceptional service and innovative solutions. Customer site visits, events, entertainment, and collaborative engagements with the sales team will be key components of the role, emphasizing the importance of building strong customer relationships and driving customer loyalty. The right candidate will champion a culture of excellent customer service, teamwork, and collaboration.

- Manage multiple priorities, work with a sense of urgency, and demonstrate critical thinking skills as required.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities with the goal of building and maintaining a world-class sales team.
- Competency in all duties performed by their sales manager.
- Develop intimate relationships with our existing “A’ list customers.
- Develop strategies and actively participate in the process of onboarding targeted new customers.
- Foster a “best practices” environment with peers from other locations for improved sales procedures.
- Collaborate with our production, operations, and purchasing teams to maintain a seamless value proposition for our customers.
- Research new product offerings and, when appropriate, collaborate with purchasing, production, and sales to deploy an effective rollout strategy.
- Provide market information to our internal sales and purchasing teams.
- Regularly visit existing customers ensuring inventory levels and product quality are acceptable, pursue marketing opportunities, and assess sales performance and activity versus expectations.
- Lead by example in establishing and enhancing relationships with customers so that we are their preferred vendor.
- Perform divisional forecasting and participate in customer and employee reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven years sales experience preferably in a multi-location manufacturing or distribution operation within the building materials.
- Must maintain and carry a valid state driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles including automobiles and trucks in accordance with company policy.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees of the organization and communicate effectively by telephone, in person, and in writing.
- Position has travel requirements of a regional nature up to 25% of the time.
- Proven success at building strong and/or long-term relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
