Job Summary
- Under the direction and supervision of the Operative Services Director is directly responsible for performing circulating and/or scrub nurse duties in the Operating Room; for providing nursing care to patients preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively in support of care directed by the surgeon.
- Provide other assistance as required to the surgical team; and for acting in any nursing capacity as directed by the Operating Room Director and Coordinator.
- All nursing care functions/responsibilities are based on the ANA standards
- Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera’s Mission and Avera’s Service Excellence Standards.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate of Registered Nursing Education program.
- 3 years of experience required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Minimum of one year experience in operating room nursing is preferred.
- Participates in educational conferences, and updates and maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
- Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
- BLS required.
Work Schedule
- Hours:
- Position requires 72 hours worked in a six-week schedule equating to 624 hours annually, not exceeding 1248 hours in a 12-month period.
- Six weekends required annually.
Pay
- Flat Rate pay of $50.00 per hour
