It is important that you understand the impact of client care on the firm's overall performance Responsibilities: • Communicating with potential new clients to discuss their injuries and gathering information through Client Intake forms • Summarizing information for the attorney and sending correspondence and follow-up emails to clients and potential clients • Reviewing documents and preparing necessary filings for the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and Industrial Commission • Collaborating with the attorney to draft motions, affidavits, and requests for medical records and wage information • Organizing and indexing documents from clients and third parties, avoiding duplication, and maintaining file organization • Tracking all dates related to discovery and information-gathering processes • Entering relevant information into the client database • Assisting the attorney in preparing for hearings by identifying and gathering necessary documents • Greeting and assisting clients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner • Answering phone calls and routing them to the appropriate team member • Maintaining a professional work environment and performing administrative tasks efficiently • Working with the Settlement Coordinator to obtain self-insured employer cost printouts and verify Medicaid liens • Completing additional projects as assigned Qualifications: • The ideal candidate for the Paralegal Assistant position in Upper Arlington, OH, US will demonstrate a strong commitment to punctuality, meeting deadlines, and working independently, showing a solid work ethic. • Proficiency in using a computer, particularly a Mac, and familiarity with Microsoft Word is required. A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree is preferred, along with experience using the Solaris Portal for Medicaid-paid claims information from Ohio’s Tort Recovery Unit. • Experience in a claimant’s workers’ compensation setting is a definite advantage.
