Responsibilities: • Meet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during an appointment • Equip and prepare treatment rooms for examination and procedures by laying out necessary sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials • Ensure dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use • Answer any questions the patient may have about dental hygiene, schedule appointments for patient care follow up, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums, after procedures • Help dentists and dental hygienists during procedures or examinations by providing suction, handing off dental instruments, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team • Must be able to fabricate aesthetic well-fitting temporaries • Must be familiar with Invisalign including taking records, placing attachments, and scanning • Must be skilled in basic assisting such as but not limited to suctioning, packing cord, accurate notes, and explaining treatment to patients • Must pass a reference check Qualifications: • Proficiency with computers, and experience updating patient histories, and with dental software is necessary • Current BLS/CPR certification is required • Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required • State licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) • Previous dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant (3 years) is necessary Compensation: up to $27 hr depending on skills
