Linux Site Reliability Engineer – Linux Systems Engineering Team
Our client, an industry leading proprietary trading firm and liquidity provider, is looking for a Linux Site Reliability Engineer to join their expanding Linux Systems Engineering Team in Chicago. The firm prides itself on its collaborative environment and usage of mostly in-home tools and technologies. You will be able to meet and collaborate with some of the most knowledgeable industry leaders.
As a Linux Site Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the production environment by designing, deploying, monitoring, and operating the firms bare-metal UNIX servers. You will be responsible for constantly researching and implementing the latest technologies to ensure optimal performance as well as the implementation of automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Be a key member of the rapidly growing Linux Systems Engineering Team, helping the firm push the boundaries of modern technology.
- Develop new solutions to ensure that the firm is always improving.
- Maintain existing systems ensuring performance is always at a top level and helping resolve any technical issues that arise.
- Help the firm to improve its automation capabilities.
- Remain up to date on all the industries latest technologies and solutions and introducing them as appropriate.
Requirements
- Years of experience working with large scale Linux/Unix servers.
- Highly experienced working with Python and using Ansible.
- Proactive team player who is able to collaborate and communicate effectively with a team.
- Strong understanding of Linux Kernel internals, virtualization and networking.
- Curious and innovative personality that allows you to always research and stay up to date with the latest technologies and solutions.
- Passionate about researching and bridging the gap between hardware and software.
