Youwill become a valued member of a family owned and operated company thatprioritizes safety above all and does a variety of work including, but notlimited to, heavy highway construction, bridge building and remediation and damrehabilitation. The successful candidate will have the ability to safely operate hydrauliccranes.
Essential functions of the position:
Perform a variety of tasks that will include having to lift heavyobjects, stretch, walk, climb, and bend under potentially adverse fieldconditions.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Following safety rules, regulations and procedures is mandatory
• Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects
• Plan all lifts and take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts
• Perform rigging inspection and daily crane inspection
• Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from signal person
• Observe the travel of all loads, and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property
• Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, resources, or materials need to perform a work activity
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
• Perform material handling and storage
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours when required, some weekends and possible night work
• Be flexible and able to take and follow orders in an independent or group setting
• Have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions
Requirements:
• Posses a valid New York State Crane License
• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Constantly work in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have reliable and punctual attendance
• Current OSHA 10 required
• Ability to communicate with all workers and representatives on job site
• Must pass a pre-hire drug screen (Drug Free Employer)
• Valid Driver's License
• A high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be willing to travel to jobsites in possible remote locations
Base salary range: Crane Operator $58.91
Actual compensation may vary based on factorssuch as related work experience, market conditions, education/training,certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well asapplicable knowledge and skills.
