The Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology is seeking to hire an Employee Relations Director who serves as the DoIT Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Advisor for agency Employee and Labor Relations matters. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and able to manage multiple critical projects with shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Essential Functions
- Serves as the Employee Relations Director for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT)
- Serves as the DoIT Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Advisor for agency Employee and Labor Relations
- Directs the Labor Relations program
- Conducts meetings with agency management and other staff to inform of changes in policy, procedures, and operations
- Serves as a resource for agency staff on collective bargaining matters
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with coursework in public or business administration.
- Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the field of labor relations and/or human resources.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience supervising a team of human resource/personnel staff.
