Overview:


Our New York client is seeking a talented, experienced UX Lead to join their dynamic team. As a UI/UX Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across our digital platforms and products. You will collaborate with stakeholders, conduct user research, and design innovative solutions that meet business objectives and user needs.


This is a 9-month contract with options for extensions.


*Please note this is a hybrid role with 3 days a week onsite in Mount Pleasant, New York.


Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the UI/UX strategy for the organization, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
  • Design Standards: Develop and maintain comprehensive UI/UX standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and usability.
  • User Research: Conduct thorough user research, including usability testing and analysis, to validate design choices and iterate on solutions.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior designers and cross-functional teams on UX/UI principles and methodologies.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools to incorporate innovative approaches.
  • Advocacy: Act as a champion for user-centered design within the organization, influencing stakeholders at all levels to prioritize user experience.


Qualifications:


Required:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as a UI/UX Architect or similar senior role.
  • Expertise in designing complex, enterprise-level applications and digital products.
  • Strong understanding of design systems, information architecture, and interaction design principles.
  • Proficiency in UX/UI design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate design rationale and justify decisions.
  • Experience leading design workshops, user interviews, and usability testing sessions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.


Preferred:

  • Certification in UX design or related field (e.g., Certified Usability Analyst, UX Certification).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and design sprints.
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design.
