About Project:

The role will represent the Data Integration layer (LEDS) in projects and work efforts across the organization. The team handles real-time data integration across the enterprise, including API development and AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) Gateways. Currently 18 members, consisting of developers, designers, analysts, experts, and team leaders. Expected to grow to exceed 25 members before the end of the year.
Work Environment: Customer-focused, project-oriented programming environment. Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
Role Description:
Typical Day:
Responsibilities include assisting with the design, documentation, and troubleshooting of data exchanges between enterprise systems (both internally and externally). The individual will work with business units and other application areas to understand requirements and collaborate closely with development staff to ensure integration solutions meet those needs.
  • This role benefits from development experience, but the candidate will not do much coding; the focus is more on integration design and analysis.
  • This person will work closely with development staff to make that integration work properly
  • Someone who is able to understand and deliver data needs successfully between enterprise applications
  • On some days they can spend hours in meetings discussing design or working with development staff to make sure their work and project needs are aligned.
  • Perform all phases of applications systems analysis and design. Analyze systems specifications and develop applications to support information systems processes. Prepare detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written. Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain these programs. Formulates scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems.
  • 20% Ensure team members understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, organizational standards are maintained, and applications are delivered according to project timeliness. Provide expert system knowledge, perform research, attend meetings, and review documents.
  • 20% Maintain and modify programs according to specifications. Code, compile, and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Evaluate basic interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.
  • 20% Test modified programs, create necessary test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write relevant documentation.
  • 20% Analyze production systems, recommend systems enhancements, provide instruction to production support team. Research customer issues and determine appropriate resolutions. Coordinate implementation of modifications or enhancements.
  • 20% Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Develop functional design and technical specifications, concept diagrams, and work flow diagrams and related procedures to process data using appropriate systems environment/platform. Document programs/procedures.

Requirements:
  • Technical requirements (Must Haves): Good understanding of:
    • Web Services/APIs - both SOAP and RESTful
    • OpenAPI standards
    • Swagger or API Gateways, especially IBM DataPower or AWS API Gateway

  • Preferred/Nice-to-Have Technologies:
    • JavaScript
    • Java
    • GitHub

  • Education:
    • Minimum Required Education : Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree.
    • Degree Equivalency : 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree

  • Minimum Required Work Experience: 4 years-of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.

  • Soft Skills:
    • Communication: Essential for team presentations and working with various stakeholders.
    • Requirements Gathering: Crucial for understanding business needs and translating them into technical requirements.
    • Ability to Prioritize and Handle Multiple Tasks: Important for managing concurrent tasks and projects.


  • Strong understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment.
  • Strong analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building.
  • Familiar with project management concepts. Pays attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc.
  • Minimum Required Software and Other Tools : Strong knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.
