PAY RANGE: Marketing Communications Manager II: $62,300 - $77,900
Sr Marketing Communications Manager: $79,100 - $105,400
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required). This is a currently a hybrid role, with in-office days in downtown Kansas City MO on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. At this time, candidate may work remotely on Mondays and Fridays if desired.
Summary Of Primary Duties And Responsibilities
We’re looking for a passionate storytelling expert to develop content for our web, email, and other customer communication channels. The ideal candidate understands customers in the Midwest and has experience explaining complex topics in ways that are relevant, relatable, and actionable. The right candidate can craft messages that put customers first, while introducing them to relevant services and products, telling our brand story and building trust.
Candidates will be asked to submit samples of prior work and may be asked to complete a short writing exercise.
Major Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Write and produce content for Evergy’s email campaigns and web experience to align with strategic objectives, brand standards and voice. Revise, edit and proofread content accordingly.
- Develop and produce email and automated marketing campaigns via Eloqua.
- Develop and produce web content via Sitecore content management system.
- Guide and support the development of content strategies to meet customer needs based on a deep understanding of customer motivations. Coach, train and assist project and marketing managers in curating and developing content to help them achieve their goals.
- Integrate the website and email into multi-channel communication campaigns to generate leads, drive conversion and positive engagement.
- Support the development and execution of personalization strategies. Generate content that effectively conveys desired messaging for personalized communications, multi-variate and A/B testing initiatives.
- Use analytics to drive ongoing, iterative performance improvement.
Education And Experience Requirements
- Requires 2-3 years of marketing experience. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of marketing experience in a complex organization, with an emphasis in writing.
- Ability to write a variety of content spanning multiple channels and purposes, from customer education to storytelling to technical instructions.
- Demonstrated content strategy skillset, including success with marketing personas, audience segmentation, message crafting, agency coordination/collaboration.
- Proven experience building multi-channel communications and experiences that drive conversions and enhance brand perception.
- Strong consideration given to candidates with experience in marketing automation and web content management systems (Sitecore experience a plus).
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Experience managing content in Sitecore, Adobe, Tridion, Eloqua, Marketo or comparable content management system and/or marketing automation platform.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills.
- Highly organized, attention to detail, adaptable.
- Team player, flexible, collaborative.
- Background in service journalism a plus.
- Experience in utilities or public services a plus.
