Oracle Senior Applications Developer for the Cloud - Providence, Rhode Island

The Construction and Engineering group within Infrastructure Global Industry Unit (IGIU) of Oracle is the world’s leading project and portfolio management software organization. We provide the software foundation that enables businesses to achieve excellence in managing their portfolios, programs, projects, and resources. The development group in the IGIU is focused on developing enterprise-level solutions for customers in project-intensive industries worldwide, leveraging agile development methods.

As part of a development team, you will analyze problems, suggest alternative solutions, and develop high-quality software. A BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment is essential. Ideal candidates have a passion for software development and stay updated with technology trends and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, code, test, and debug software programs using cloud technology.
  2. Act as an individual contributor as well as a team member.
  3. Work with little supervision, conferring with superiors on complex matters.
  4. Provide guidance and technical leadership to lower-level software engineers on complex projects.
  5. Evaluate new technology that could improve products and processes.

Job Qualifications:

  1. US Citizen based in the United States.
  2. Experience with cloud platforms, cloud technologies/deployments, and cloud-native architecture.
  3. Experience with Docker and container management platforms (ECS, Kubernetes, etc.).
  4. Proficient in Linux operating system.
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Experience in SOAP Services and REST APIs.
  7. Experience with development tools such as Eclipse, GIT, jUnit, YourKit, Postman.
  8. Oracle Database programming including Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  9. Understanding of microservices – benefits, limitations, challenges.
  10. Familiarity with CI/CD and development best practices, especially around automation and testing.
  11. Java (core and EE), object-oriented design, design patterns.
  12. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Range and Benefit Information:

US: Hiring Range: from $81,500 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability, life insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and more.
