Description
The Logistics Coordinator must act according to Leedo's core values where our goal is making our customers successful, taking care of our team, pursuing excellence and maximizing profit. This person is accountable for meeting customers' delivery needs with minimal supervision at an optimal cost while working within the goals and objectives of the company possessing a keen intelligence with a strong work ethic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively to carriers, customers and Leedo team.
  • Manage trailer inventory to optimize turns and minimize trans-loading.
  • Timely and accurately assign/update shipments to include delivery dates/times, broker, carrier and trailers with accurate load and order information.
  • Post loads as shipped, ensuring accurate costs and adherence to company processes.
  • Monitor in-transit load status for all shipments.
  • Communicate delivery exceptions with the FMs and customer as well as work with carriers to minimize customer disruption.
  • Aggressively combine orders using the Load Building Process to maximize cube utilization.
  • Audit freight bills for accuracy and approve in a timely manner to ensure no late payments.
  • Create Shipping Packages for Outbound Shipments.
  • Produce reports and analysis as assigned in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Others duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing goals.
  • Should be a self-starter, willing and able to work flexible hours to complete variable work load.
  • Must be comfortable working within established guidelines, while offering suggestions for improving logistics processes.
  • Must have excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • Must be a team player, have competent work skills and be able (and comfortable) to multi-task.
  • Must be willing and able to take a scheduled after hour and weekend call schedule.
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized.
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
Education and/or Experience
  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in domestics logistics to include dealing with motor carriers, drivers and customs brokers a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, as is the ability to interface with all levels of the Leedo organization.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Primarily an office environment, sitting, keyboard work and close visual reading.
  • Occasional factory exposure and areas where eye and hearing protection is required.
