REGISTERED DIETITIAN

Description:Summary & ObjectiveThe Dietitian, Registered is responsible for the nutritional care and education of all patients/residents in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, through physician/nurse referral.Essential FunctionsReviews the dietary requirements of each patient/resident, as required, and assist the attending physician in planning for the patients/residents prescribed diet plan.Ensure that all-interdisciplinary notes charted are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the patients/resident's response to the services.Participates in discharge planning, development and implementation of patient care plans, patient assessments, etc., as required.Involves the patient and family in planning objectives and goals for the patient.Plans normal and special diet menus as prescribed by the attending physicianEvaluate and ensure accuracy in the preparation of documentation.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Other DutiesProvide information and other relevant updates audibly to patients, care givers and interdisciplinary team members as necessary. Develop and participate in programs designed for in-service education, on-the-job training and orientation classes for newly hired personnel.Respect and maximize team effort through interactions with both clinical sand support staff.
