Required Skills:
  • Ability to carry out instructions quickly and accurately
  • Ability to key data accurately from PDF printed forms
  • Good math skills and/or a bookkeeping background are a plus
  • Basic computer proficiencies in MS Excel and Word with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Pro is a plus
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Job Description:
  • Assist the General Accounting Office in maintaining daily operations by performing duties in the areas of reconciliations (suspense accounts and unearned/deferred revenue), deposit certificate review and processing, online journal processing in the Banner and/or Cardinal accounting systems, and maintenance/safeguarding of processed financial transactions.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Accurately process (key and file) management approved transactions (journal entries and deposit certificates) into the University's accounting system (Banner Finance) and/or the Commonwealth's accounting system (Cardinal) on a daily basis.
  • Review the daily Banner/Cardinal Interface journal transactions for accuracy. Submit interface transmittals to management for approval. Notify the FAST Department of the journal status.
  • Update the data entry batch log and file data on a daily basis after transactions are keyed.
  • Assist with boxing of storage files from prior fiscal years.
  • Assist with the preparation of desk procedures to standardize work flow.
