We are seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Department in Springfield, MA and work as a member of a team on a variety of projects focusing on roadway and traffic design projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Typically requires 0-3 years of relevant experience; internship
• EIT registration preferred
• Intermediate skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation and Synchro; and Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Experience with construction and/or land surveying is a plus
• Experience with MassDOT design guidelines is a plus

Key Responsibilities
- Traffic analysis and planning
- Performing traffic impact studies
- Highway alignment layouts
- Conducting speed studies
- Implementing complete streets designs
- Highway permitting
- Corridor modeling
- Construction cost estimating
- Providing transportation support services for large, multi-disciplinary civil/site projects
- Projects include:
- Public schools design
- Collegiate/secondary education facility design
- Rail trail/bike path design
- Drainage & culvert design
- Bridge replacement projects
