Job Summary

The purpose of this part-time psychologist position is to provide clinical behavioral health services to the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following duties:

  1. Provide outpatient fertility counseling and perinatal mental health services for the Center for Reproductive Health
  2. Complete psychological screening of egg donor candidates
  3. Review externally completed donor and surrogacy candidate screenings for consistency with established criteria
  4. Participate in teaching, supervision, and assessment of trainees in Psychiatry and OBGYN
  5. Engage in innovation and continual improvements in clinical and educational programs
  6. Contribute to division clinical research endeavors

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $47.66 - $86.06 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences (Ob, Gyn & RS) is a major academic Department in the School of Medicine, engaged in clinical, research and training activities at the Parnassus, Mount Zion, and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital campuses, the new Betty Irene Moore Women's Hospital at Mission Bay, as well as satellite locations throughout the Bay Area, with an annual operating budget of $149 million. The Department has 100 full-time faculty, 117 other academic appointees, 13 post-doctoral fellows, 20 clinical fellows, 32 residents, 138 voluntary clinical faculty, and 270 staff.

The UCSF Center for Reproductive Health located in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area offers a comprehensive array of infertility evaluation and treatment options for both men and women. Our services include: Infertility Evaluation, Male Reproductive Health, Fertility Preservation, Reproductive Surgery, Tubal Reversal Surgery, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), Ovulation Induction, Donor Sperm Insemination, Egg Donor Program for Donors, Egg Donor Program for Recipients, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, Gestational Surrogacy, Genetic Screening and Counseling Psychological Support. In addition, Telehealth/Zoom is available for: Psychology, Genetic Counselors, new patients, follow-ups, IVF Orientation and Injection classes.

Required Qualifications

  1. Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology and one year of post-doctoral experience in clinical psychology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.
  2. Current, valid license in California as a psychologist. Out of state licensed psychologists have 180 days to complete licensure requirements in the State of California.
  3. Demonstrated skills and training in fertility counseling and perinatal mental health.
  4. Completion of mental health certification from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
  5. Demonstrated clinical, educational, and administrative skills with a strong commitment to a career as a clinician-educator.
  6. Demonstrated cultural competence in working with underserved and culturally diverse populations.
  7. Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon application submission.
  8. Applicants must meet all of the requirements by the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Prior experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
  2. Clinical experience in a large academic health system.
  3. Knowledge of community resources.

License/Certification

Current, valid license in California as a psychologist. Out of state licensed psychologists have 180 days to complete licensure requirements in the State of California.
