Overview:
Southern Integrated Solutions & Consulting (SISC) is looking for a full time Senior Electrical Power Engineer with extensive experience and a profound understanding of electrical power engineering.This role is designed for a professional poised to lead complex projects in the design, analysis, and commissioning of LV and MV electrical equipment, especially in the oil & gas and heavy industry sectors. The candidate should demonstrate a high level of expertise, leadership, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex electrical power engineering projects with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong leadership and technical acumen.
- Develop, review, and approve critical electrical power engineering deliverables, including:
- One Line Diagrams
- Electrical Load Lists
- Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets (Transformers, Switchgears, etc.)
- Design of MCC, Switchgear, and Power Distribution Systems
- Cable Sizing & Routing
- Earthing and Lightning Protection System Designs
- Electrical Layout Plans (Substation Layout, Cable Tray Layout, etc.)
- Hazardous Area Classifications and Selection of Ex-Rated Equipment
- Power Systems Studies (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Harmonic Analysis)
- Relay Coordination Studies and Settings
- Participate in critical studies and reviews like HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessments.
- Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and management of electrical requisition documentation, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.
- Direct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for complex electrical systems.
- Conduct and supervise comprehensive field surveys to document and assess existing conditions.
- Provide expert collaboration with project teams, clients, and suppliers to resolve complex technical electrical power challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Extensive experience in electrical power engineering, with a strong focus on LV and MV systems.
- Deep understanding and practical application of industry codes and standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting wiring, fiber optics, and power design on-site.
- Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical engineering simulation software.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Eligibility to work in the United States (US Citizen or Green Card holder).
- PE Registration, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months, preferred.
