Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and timeliness, including variance analysis and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal reporting standards and external reporting guidelines for lenders, investors, and partners, meeting monthly, quarterly, and year-end deadlines.
  • Manage and update cash balances, and perform weekly/monthly bank reconciliations for your assigned portfolio, while also assisting the accounting manager with cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Review and oversee property vendor invoices within the accounts payable system, preparing disbursements for approval.
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners, including asset management, property management teams, and external auditors, to support financial operations and reporting.
  • Maintain and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements using cash or accrual methods of accounting, adhering to GAAP standards.
  • Examine rental activity reports for proper revenue classification, preparing reclassifying entries as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed supporting schedules for fixed assets, insurance, taxes, and other property-related expenses.
  • Analyze financial statements and budget variances, identifying and reporting any abnormalities to management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Property Management Accounting, with a preference for experience in multi-family housing.
  • Experience with property management software such as Yardi or similar platforms.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
