Data Architect - W2

Location: Boston - 2 days on-site (preference is for someone local)

Rate: $90 - $110

Contract: 12 months initial

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with expertise in both AWS and Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and implementing data architecture solutions, ensuring that they align with business requirements. This role will involve working closely with various teams to design scalable, high-performance data solutions, focusing on cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable data architecture solutions in AWS and Snowflake.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define data requirements.
  • Architect and optimize data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and integration patterns.
  • Ensure data models and structures are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Hands-on development and implementation of data solutions, including ETL processes, data lakes, and data warehouses.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across the organization.
  • Lead data migration projects from legacy systems to Snowflake and AWS.
  • Develop strategies for data security and access management.
  • Work closely with data engineering, BI, and analytics teams to support their data needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with new data management technologies and recommend improvements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles.
  • Proven hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambda, EC2).
  • Strong expertise in Snowflake , including architecture, security, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration technologies (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Matillion, DBT).
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and data modeling (star/snowflake schema).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling large-scale datasets and real-time data processing.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with other data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Hadoop) is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Snowflake, or data architecture.
