We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee tax coordination and payroll functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and applicable experience with tax compliance and payroll processes. This role requires effective leadership abilities to manage internal payroll resources, coordinate external support partners, and influence cross-functional team members to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the tax process, including preparation, filing, and payment of taxes at the US local, state, and federal levels.
- Review, research, and coordinate follow-up to correspondence from federal and state taxing authorities and auditors.
- Stay abreast of changes in US and international tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
- Maintain accurate federal, state/local, and international tax calendar/deliverables in Blackline and Epicor software.
- Liaise with outside tax advisors, external auditors, and tax authorities during audits and inquiries.
- Maintain and record stock compensation in coordination with HR (ASC 718).
- Oversee US payroll processing, including accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursements to US based employees.
- Collaborate with HR to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Support HR Benefits with annual enrollment, benefits reconcilement, and 401(k) audit.
- Maintain accurate records of tax filings, payments, and payroll transactions.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to taxes and payroll for management review.
- Coordinate Management Incentive Program (MIP) accrual booking and settlements with Finance and HR teams.
- Work with and support the accounting team in day-to-day activities and special projects.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, providing support and fostering their professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5 years in tax coordination and/or payroll.
- Applied knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software and other accounting systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, Blackline, Avalara, and Epicor).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
