Sales Manager - Analytical Instruments (Los Angeles) 1706
We are excited to offer a dynamic role for a Sales Manager at our Los Angeles office to lead a fast-growing business unit within the Western Region. This essential role focuses on selling and providing support for a cutting-edge range of high-precision measuring instruments that assess physical, chemical, mechanical, and structural properties. As the leader of this unit, the successful candidate will have direct impacts not only on team performance and professional growth but also on enhancing customer satisfaction and business revenue across the region.
Compensation: Base salary range $150,000 - $170,000 with a 20 - 30% performance bonus, comprehensive benefits, profit-sharing contributions to 401k, and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and develop a skilled team comprising field and inside sales representatives along with product specialists.
- Attain or exceed sales targets while carefully managing travel and expense budgets for the business unit.
- Provide daily operational support to the team, enhancing their capacity for high performance and customer engagement.
- Create strategic sales plans and conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment with the company’s growth objectives.
- Implement training programs for team members focusing on selling strategies, negotiation skills, and customer service excellence.
- Maintain constant communication with the Vice President of Sales and Service Eastern Region to synchronize cross-regional strategies.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to adapt and innovate sales tactics accordingly.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in sales management, preferably within the analytical instrumentation or technical capital equipment sector.
- Proven success in direct sales and team leadership.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical field.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, often overnight.
- Valid driver’s license and passport required for potential international travel needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Greater than 5 years of strategic leadership in high-tech equipment sales environments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and manage change effectively.
