As Transport Architects, we design and manage the transportation of food-related items for exporters and importers, ensuring their goods move seamlessly across seas and lands. Our operations cover various logistics services, including sea freight, land freight (drayage and trucking), and cold storage operations.
We are looking for
A dynamic and highly motivated colleague to join our Florida team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the procurement of sea freight and land freight services, including drayage and trucking, as well as managing cold storage operations. This role also encompasses inside sales responsibilities, such as creating and following up on offers/quotes for existing and potential customers.
Tasks
- Procure sea freight and land freight services, negotiating contracts and rates to ensure competitive service offerings.
- Manage relationships with carriers, suppliers, and cold storage facilities to optimize logistics operations.
- Prepare and follow up on quotes/offers, aiming to convert inquiries into sales.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure the smooth execution of transport plans, from origin to destination.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, carrier offerings, and regulatory changes affecting the transport of temperature-controlled goods.
Requirements
- Experience in the logistics industry (temperature-controlled would be a plus but not a deal-breaker).
- Negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Open and clear communication (presentation abilities could come in handy).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Some Microsoft/software experience.
