Overall Purpose

Serves as the liaison between Analytics and IT teams and is responsible for assisting the Analytics team to efficiently coordinate activities related to environment modernization and regular maintenance thereby minimizing downtime for the Analytics groups. Identifies needs, exploring new technologies, and applying data sciences/machine learning concepts to further optimize the Data Sciences value chain to deliver products to the market faster. Works closely with key stakeholders in both IT, Analytics, Products, and other internal stakeholders.

Essential Functions

Core duties will require involvement in multiple knowledge areas working as a central support point of contact for all Analytics tools and applications.

  • Advocate and drive an efficient and reliable capacity management for software and hardware utilized by the Analytics team, including Data Robot, Hadoop cluster, HDFS, Yarn, Hive, Spark, Kafka, HBase, Solr, Linux servers, and others.
  • Assist with developing data science pipelines and workflows in Python or R.
  • Develop system automation and scripting.
  • Assist with maintaining the Analytics environment architecture inventory.
  • Writing and tuning SQL or interacting with databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Guide efforts applied to identification, enhancement, and automation.
  • Prepare test strategy, test plan, test cases, and test summary documents.
  • Produce and report metrics.
  • Participate in and support initiatives for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
  • Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
  • Ensure testing policies and procedures are followed.
Qualifications
  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Quantitative fields and/or Computer Science; Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Experience with open-source frameworks and tools.
  • Understanding machine learning techniques and understanding the key parameters that affect their performance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate findings from complex analyses to non-technical audiences.
  • Keen troubleshooting skills across tiers/domains.
  • Experience handling large datasets in data lake or data warehouse.
  • Ability to write well-written and explainable production level code.
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps software development philosophy, methodologies, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups and generate results.
  • Work experience that demonstrates a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Ability to envision project goals, product architectural solutions, and focus on details and tasks to ensure successful implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously.
  • Background and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial industry experience.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams to create technical solutions and implementation.
Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The Pay Scale For This Position In

Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per year is: $120,000 - $145,000.

New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $125,000 - $150,000.
