We are looking for an Engineering Associate to investigate and analyze motor vehicle crashes. We are specifically looking for someone to focus on motorcycles, bicycles, power sport vehicles, and micro-mobility vehicles. If you love two-wheeled vehicles and have experience analyzing their performance, dynamics, crash behavior, or design, this could be the job for you.
Role and Responsibilities
Collect, document, and interpret physical evidence;
Conduct crash tests and exemplar tests;
Review documentation, including repair estimates, witness statements, traffic collision reports, deposition transcripts, and videos;
Analyze evidence to determine crash dynamics, speeds, impact forces, driver reactions, and occupant movement;
Produce written and graphical summaries of scientific findings and conclusions;
Testify as an expert witness at depositions and trials.
Required Qualifications
Engineering or Physics degree;
Experience riding, designing, analyzing, or testing motorcycles (or other two-wheeled vehicles);
Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly explain complex issues in simple language;
High ethical and technical standards;
A keen interest in solving detailed and challenging problems;
Eligibility for PE or EIT designation in California, if not already registered.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in engineering, or a related field;
Scientific publications that demonstrate your ability to pose and answer technical questions;
Individuals with less work experience but outstanding academic performance are also encouraged to apply.
Salary and Benefits
The annual salary is $90,000 to $175,000 depending on skill and experience. We contribute $850 per month towards health care plan premiums and offer a safe harbor 401k plan. Starting vacation is 3 weeks (accrued annually) and we observe 11 paid holidays per year.
