JOB SUMMARY: The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join our University Relations team as the Executive Director of Parent & Family Development. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage parents & families in supporting UC Santa Cruz through philanthropic initiatives.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION:
Budgeted Salary: $101,100 - $123,900/year. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES:
40% - Parent Development and Engagement
- Cultivate and steward relationships with parents.
- Build and manage a portfolio of 75-100 prospective major gift donor families.
- Solicit gifts at all levels with an emphasis on major gifts ($50K and above).
- Meet dollar and activity metrics set with the leadership of the division.
- Create and support targeted engagement programs and events.
- Travel regularly within assigned regions to meet with prospects and donors.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising efforts.
- Collaborate with the broader Advancement team.
20% - Communication and Outreach
- Develop messaging and communication materials.
- Implement outreach strategies to keep parents informed.
20% - Collaboration & Supervision
- Collaborate with other university departments.
- Potentially co-manage staff.
10% - Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for parent/family fundraising.
- Identify key priorities and initiatives that resonate with parents/families.
10% - Data Analysis and Reporting
- Utilize data to evaluate fundraising initiatives.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Five to seven years of combined major gifts and related experience.
- A track record of success in securing major gifts.
- Dedication to building relationships with diverse communities.
- A self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple units.
- Expertise at major gift level activity.
- Knowledge of growing and managing teams.
- High level of professional maturity and tact.
- Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
