Job Summary

The Contracts Administrator (Contracts Administration Staff III/IV) is responsible for preparing, negotiating, administering, and terminating standard and non-standard contracts, primarily for US government, commercial and international customers. This position conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications, and advises management of contractual rights and obligations. This position analyzes contractual data and provides recommendations to internal and external customers, as required.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Draft, review, and execute Nondisclosure Agreements (NDAs) with various commercial, international, and government customers.
  • Prepare, negotiate and execute proposals and contracts, managing the approval process in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform risk assessment of proposals and contracts terms and conditions to assist the program office in development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Administer and manage contracts with an emphasis on analyzing the contracts’ deliverables, special provisions, modifications, and terms and conditions.
  • Manage and ensure that contract data is accurately captured in Aerospace’s Contract Management Lifecycle (CMLS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Understand, evaluate, and communicate contract provisions, clauses, and regulations including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) clauses, flow-downs, and subcontract requirements; maintain official program records, including contractual documents and correspondence with customers.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Contracts Administration Staff III :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Six or more years of contracts experience.
  • Experience in government and commercial contracts management, working on a diverse portfolio of contract types, customers, products and services.
  • Experience with FAR, DFAR, CAR, NFS and other federal acquisition regulations and codes.
  • Research and analysis skills, with the ability to draft topic papers on quick delivery.
  • Willingness and ability to travel on occasion.

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Contracts Administration Staff IV include:

  • Ten or more years of contracts experience.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working directly with Federal Civil Agencies (e.g., NASA, DOC, DHS, DOT).
  • Prior experience managing contracts with both commercial and government customers.
  • One or more National Contract Management Association (NCMA) certifications: Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), Certified Commercial Contract Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM).
  • Experience managing contract data through a Contract Management Lifecycle (CMLS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and associated software suites such as SAP, CRM, iCERTIS, Tableau, SharePoint, Dassian.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
