EXPECTATIONS:

The Clinic Director will acknowledge in writing their agreement to comply with the organization’s Behavioral Commitments document as well as all other applicable policies.

JOB SUMMARY: The Clinic Director leads and supervises the clinical day-to-day operations and manages the overall organizational accreditation. The Clinic Director may hold a WA State medical license (RN, ARNP, PA, etc.) but is not required to. The Clinic Director ensures that care is conducted in accordance with established standards of care and organizational policies and procedures. The Clinic Director works with the Medical Director to maintain and enforce clinical policies and procedures, to monitor compliance and to conduct quality improvement programs, and act as the direct supervisor for all clinical staff. The Clinic Director plays an integral role in the supervising, education, and training of paid and volunteer staff and developing and enforcing clinical procedures for best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Works collaboratively with Medical Director and CEO to promote care of patients according to the organizational mission and values.
  2. Upholds organizational mission and values and demonstrates them daily to staff and volunteers.
  3. Manages the day-to-day operations for staff, patients, and guests.
  4. Must refer to CEO for all media and press release requests.
  5. Manages and oversees AAAHC compliance and conducts regular surveys of clinic operations.
  6. Implements the expansion of clinical days and hours as directed by the Medical Director & CEO.
  7. Oversee and coordinates all educational training including but not limited to STI Testing Training, Well Women Training, and Ultrasound Training.
  8. In collaboration with the Executive Assistant, manages recruiting and interviewing of clinical personnel.
  9. Participates in WSAC medical meetings, collaboration, and retreats.
  10. Manages clinical interpersonal situations as they arise and informs and includes leadership when necessary.
  11. Acts as Infection Control Officer. This position can also be delegated to another staff person in the medical department.
  12. Complete credentialing and reappointment for all medical personnel.
  13. Upkeep and maintain all personnel files as required by WA state laws and AAAHC.
  14. Lead semiannually peer review and chart review process for all medical personnel.
  15. Acts as Safety Officer.
  16. In collaboration with Medical Director and Communications Coordinator, provides content topics and execution for the 3W Medical blog.
  17. Oversee and manage Quality Improvement Committee, QI Study and benchmarking.
  18. Manages EMR in partnership with the Executive Assistant.
  19. Partners with the Executive Assistant to ensure compliance with federal, state, and AAAHC regulations pertaining to clinical aspects of providing health care. Develops reports as required.
  20. In collaboration with the Medical Director, ensures compliance with accepted standards of care and professional guidelines such as those published by ACOG, AWHONN, CDC and other appropriate organizations.
  21. In collaboration with Medical Director, maintain and update community resources and educational materials.
  22. In collaboration with the Communications Coordinator, maintain and update patient app.
  23. Attends appropriate continuing education and training on aspects of women’s health care appropriate to the services provided by the clinic.
  24. Assists Medical Director with development and recommendation of patient education materials.
  25. Oversee receptionist and medical assistants to manage patient flow within the clinic.
  26. Follows and monitors compliance with policies and procedures for reports of ultrasounds, laboratory tests, and other medical tests performed either internally or referred externally.
  27. Supervises all medical personnel including providers, nurses, medical assistants, and volunteers.
  28. As instructed by the Medical Director, arranges, and organizes medical education and training for staff and volunteers.
  29. Collaborate with other non-profit organizations to further clinic reach.
  30. Hold organizational meet-and-greets to promote community collaboration.
  31. Research and implement expanded medical and social services as requested by leadership.
  32. Ensures clinical personnel follow organizational guidelines for attendance, punctuality, and overall dependability.
  33. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals, and values.
  34. Performs other duties as assigned by Medical Director and CEO.
  35. Must have 1:1 meeting with CEO when scheduled.
  36. Must schedule regular 1:1 clinical with clinical personnel members.
  37. Work collaboratively with the Advancement department and attend promotional events.
  38. Work collaboratively with the CEO and Advancement Department on patient stories and patient experiences.
  39. Must give WAMS and 3W Medical for Women permission to video and take pictures of employee for all promotional materials and where it is appropriate for use of employee images.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Licensure:

  • BLS certification (may be accomplished after hire)

Professional Experience:

  • Two to five years of clinical experience, women’s health preferred.
  • Experience in development, implementation, monitoring, or evaluation of medical policies and procedures.
  • Experience in patient advocacy or case management comparable to that periodically carried out by either inpatient or outpatient nurses.
  • Two to five years of management experience.

  • Has knowledge of pregnancy and fetal development.

  • Demonstrates thorough and perceptive skills in obtaining patient histories. (Preferred, but not required.)
  • Demonstrates efforts to continue increasing clinical knowledge and skill. (Preferred, but not required.)

Business Management Skills:

  • Must possess basic skills to use Microsoft Office, specialized software and electronic office equipment.
  • Works within approved budget and develops cost-saving measures.
  • Designs workflow and procedures to support clinical services.
  • Demonstrates ability to make informed decisions and problem-solving skills.
