LMCU is looking for a Mortgage Loan Originator who will be responsible for assisting members within our Kalamazoo, Van Buren, and St. Joseph counties with their mortgage lending needs. In this position you will build relationships, analyze loan requests, and make credit decisions based on mortgage lending policies and procedures.

LMCU is looking for a Mortgage Loan Originator who will be responsible for assisting members within our Kalamazoo, Van Buren, and St. Joseph counties with their mortgage lending needs. In this position you will build relationships, analyze loan requests, and make credit decisions based on mortgage lending policies and procedures.
What you'll do:
- Review and evaluate information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet bank and regulatory standards. Assemble documents in loan file, including acceptance or denial, and returns file mortgage clerk. Establish terms and conditions of an approved loan and reviews with member.
- Market the Credit Union's mortgage lending program to companies and individuals within the real estate community.
- Evaluate acceptability of loan on secondary mortgage markets.
- Cross sells other Credit Union services.
- Responsible for adhering to and complying with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, adhering to Bank policies and procedures, and completing required training.
- Stay informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage lending.
- Three to five years of sales or related experience. Prior experience working in the Mortgage industry is a plus.
- Ability to maintain an active registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
