LOCATION: This position is onsite, office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday)

JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Director of Marketing is responsible for leading strategic marketing and communications efforts and teams aligned with BGCA’s premier initiatives and partnerships. These efforts aim to advance the organization’s brand equity and establish BGCA as a leading advocate for youth. This position is also responsible for delivering marketing & communications value to identified corporate partners that sponsor these initiatives.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Marketing & Communications

  • Leads integrated marketing strategies to advance the brand, demonstrate the impact of the Club experience and position BGCA as an expert in youth development
  • Delivers leadership on strategy development, planning and execution to produce best-in-class campaigns, and cascades the broader marketing communications strategy across all activations within the portfolio
  • Leads brand and content strategy and integration across portfolio
  • Ensures brand consistency and messaging in all external-facing marketing and communication efforts
  • Responsible for marketing communications efforts across portfolio of national programs, initiatives, strategic alliances, and corporate partnerships
  • Serves as lead for marketing communications efforts that support initiative plan, including (but not limited to) public relations, events, social and digital, storytelling/content development, brand, advocacy, and advertising efforts
  • These efforts may be executed by this role and direct reports, or this role may oversee execution by internal or external vendors, as determined by project scope
  • Provides direction and oversight to internal teams, subject matter experts, external partners, agencies, and vendors that ensures delivery of results on-time and on-budget
  • Provides expert integrated marketing counsel and guidance to two direct reports
  • Leads efforts to scale and localize marketing activities for successful implementation within a federated model
  • Stays current on data, trends, competitive landscape, and best practices related to marketing communications and youth development, with eye toward continuous improvement to drive greater impact

Partnerships

  • Leads & oversees development and implementation of annual partnership marketing plans to achieve mutually beneficial objectives for identified partnerships within the assigned youth development portfolio
  • Identifies and acts upon opportunities to activate partnerships to deliver greater value to the brand and sponsorships
  • Responsible for the health of all marketing-led initiatives on behalf of partnerships within the portfolio
  • Serves as day-to-day marketing contact for identified partnership and oversees partnerships managed by direct reports
  • Ensures fulfillment of sponsorship contracts within the portfolio and ensures deliverables are executed with excellence to ensure continued and increased support for mission
  • Oversees marketing reporting for assigned corporate partnerships
  • Liaises with professionals at all levels within BGCA, with Clubs and within corporate partnership teams and designees (agencies, vendors, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains healthy and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading with an eye toward mutually beneficial outcomes and solutions
  • Works collaboratively with internal teams, partnership teams and vendors to meet stated objectives
  • Collaborates with the resource development team to secure new partnerships and renew relationships within identified portfolio by leading marketing efforts

Leadership:

  • Supervises two direct reports, providing leadership, direction and coaching to advance BGCA’s mission and marketing goals and reinforce a team culture grounded in the ICARE values
  • Serves as a leader of the partnership marketing team, developing and implementing plans and processes that advance the work of the partnership marketing team and the organization
  • Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders such as BGCA staff, Clubs, corporate partners, strategic alliances and others
  • Demonstrates strong dedication to being a good steward of financial resources

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, business administration and/or similar degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Strong experience leading integrated marketing plans and producing high quality execution, with demonstrated proficiency in marketing, communications, content/storytelling and digital/social media.
  • Service-oriented mind-set with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven track record in building productive professional relationships, and managing through complex issues with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcome

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal internal office environment. Travel estimated at 20% (can be up to 3-5 days or more in a month, including weekends, depending upon scheduling requirements). The individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate areas of the country or abroad by using a map or other direction methods. Ability to travel by car, airplane or other modes of transportation required.
