Starlight Ventures is seeking a driven and intellectually curious Investment Associate to join our dynamic team. Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Associate, you’ll be a core part of our investment team and involved in every stage of the venture process. Your responsibilities will include:
New Investments
- Source and evaluate innovative investment opportunities.
- Conduct thorough market and industry research to shape investment theses.
- Create compelling and insightful investment snapshots, memos, and models.
- Lead and support the execution of investment deals, working closely with our partners.
Portfolio Management
- Play a key role in monitoring and supporting portfolio companies.
- Help enhance our portfolio reporting processes and provide strategic input for portfolio companies.
- Work directly with founders and leadership teams on key initiatives, attending board meetings and supporting their growth.
Firm Operations
- Contribute to the development of Starlight’s investor relations and reporting processes.
- Play an active role in enhancing internal operations and firm-building activities.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about scientific and deep-tech startups and who thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline, with a proven track record of academic excellence.
- MBA is a plus but not required.
- A genuine interest in science and a strong desire to work in venture capital, with a focus on deep-tech innovations.
- Prior experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with significant experience using Excel and PowerPoint.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a passion for working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
