From locomotives, transit, freight cars and engines, to tracks, signals and advanced technology, we ensure customers can count on us to meet their needs.Learn how we keep our customers rolling by following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, and by visiting progressrail.com .Education / Training:HSD or Equivalent RequiredJob Title:Welder IVCity:MontgomeryKey Job Elements:• Pass internal welding certification in conjunction withrequirements under ISO, AAR, and other regulatoryagencies;• Retrieve materials assembled and weld into a finishedproduct;• Set up components for welding according tospecifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws tomatch measurements);• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that mustbe welded;• Interpret welding blueprints, assembly instructions,drawings, JSA’s, and bills of material;• Maintaining welding proficiency as required by ProgressRail QSP 4.9 as well as any applicable local andinternational standards;• Candidate must be able to accurately use measuringdevices such as tape measures, scales, and calipers.Must be able to measure and record the requiredinspection information;• Candidate must be able to use various hand tools as wellas pneumatic and electric powered grinders andimpact wrenches, as well as overhead cranes totransport components into and out of the work area.Qualifications and Experience:Skill Level IV – 4-5 years of experience as a certified welder.
