What you'll do...

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Integration Software Engineer to join our Intelligent Store team as an IC Senior Distinguished role. In this pivotal position, you will play a critical part in developing and maintaining software applications that drive the intelligence and automation of our stores. As a Walmart code of conduct compliant assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that all software development activities align with Walmart's values and standards.

The Intelligent Store team is a dynamic and innovative group of technology professionals who are passionate about driving the intelligence and automation of Walmart's stores. As a critical part of Walmart's digital transformation, this team is responsible for developing and maintaining software applications that enable seamless shopping experiences, optimize inventory management, and enhance store operations. Through their work, they are constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible in retail technology and helping to shape the future of Walmart's stores.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain highly complex software applications that integrate with various systems and technologies to support Walmart's intelligent store initiatives including but not limited to Catalogue, Payments, Inventory, Reconciliation & Checkout Systems.
  • Understand system level architecture for both systems within the Intelligent Store Technology team, as well as other areas of the business, to effectively facilitate enterprise integration to those systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and outside innovation accelerators to enable rapid deployment of new technology.
  • Write high-quality, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to Walmart's software development standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure high-quality software deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex software issues and defects, and collaborate with other teams to resolve issues that span multiple systems and technologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software integration and make recommendations for improvement and innovation, including AI/ML systems.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science or related field with 15+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.
  • 10+ years of experience in software integration , with a focus on integrating systems and technologies across multiple domains.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership or senior technical leadership role , guiding the technical strategy and direction of software development projects.
  • Strong expertise in software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum, and experience with software development lifecycle processes and standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of software integration technologies, including APIs, ETL, ESB, and message queuing.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Java, Python, and C++, and experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS and Azure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:- Stock
