About the Role:
The Regional Vice President of Engineering (RVPE) will be responsible for setting and executing the strategic engineering vision across their designated region. This pivotal leadership role involves overseeing all engineering operations and ensuring alignment with Trace3’s overall goals and objectives. The RVPE will manage a diverse team of engineering professionals, drive innovation, and optimize engineering processes to enhance efficiency and performance. The leadership of this role will be crucial in fostering a collaborative environment, mentoring and upleveling the team, steering regional projects to successful completion, ensuring Trace3’s Total Customer Experience, and maintaining the highest possible standards of engineering excellence.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with GM and sales leadership to develop and execute a regional engineering strategy in alignment with Trace3’s overall vision and objectives.
- Manage and optimize engineering operations, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing architectural engineering team, including recruitment, training, and ongoing performance evaluation.
- Work with the regional engineering and sales teams to bring new, regionally relevant offerings to market.
- Ensure our regional relevance with select partners through engineering excellence.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of regional engineering projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Drive technological innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering function, promoting the adoption of best practices and cutting-edge technologies.
- Develop and manage the regional engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
- Collaborate with regional senior management, other regional engineering leaders, CTO Business Unit leaders, and the Operational Leadership Team to align engineering efforts with business goals and address key issues.
- Ensure that all engineering activities comply with Trace3’s engineering standards and guidelines.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of engineering engagements and operations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with engineering projects and operations to minimize impact on the business.
Qualifications & Interests:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5-7 years in a senior management or leadership role.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in direct sales engineering, or in a sales engineering adjacent environment – a VAR, an OEM, an MSSP, etc.
- Proven track record of transformational change within an engineering organization.
- Strong financial and business acumen with understanding of a multi-faceted business operation.
- Experience in developing and managing budgets for engineering operations, with a track record of cost control and financial efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution, with a focus on aligning engineering efforts with business goals.
- Strong influencing skills to get things done and inspire business transformation.
- Ability to partner and collaborate with business and sales leaders across the company.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment.
- Ability to approach customer and sales requests with a proactive and consultative manner; listen and understand user requests and needs and effectively deliver.
- Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills with an ability to present security-related concepts to C-Level Executives and non-technical audience.
- Conflict negotiation and problem-solving skills and agility.
- Ability to travel when needed.
