We are currently seeking an experienced cannabis manufacturing professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in hydrocarbon extraction, manufacturing, production, and safety protocols. This role requires a proactive multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  

Role Summary 
The Extraction Tech is responsible for operating and maintaining hydrocarbon extraction equipment to produce high-quality cannabis extracts. This role requires a deep understanding of extraction processes, safety protocols, equipment usage and compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hydrocarbon extraction, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Extraction Operations: Operate hydrocarbon extraction equipment to produce cannabis concentrates, ensuring all processes are conducted safely and efficiently. 
  • Quality Control: Perform quality control checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure consistency, purity, and compliance with company standards. 
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Properly handle and store hazardous materials. 
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot extraction equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition. Schedule regular maintenance and repairs as needed on extraction and ancillary equipment.  
  • Documentation: Accurately document extraction processes, batch records, and quality control results. Maintain comprehensive logs and reports and keep detailed notes. 
  • Compliance: Understand and maintain compliance with local and state regulations, the company handbook, and other directives, as necessary. 
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve extraction processes to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including manufacturing manager, lab technicians and quality control staff, to ensure seamless production flow. 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field is preferred. Extensive in-person Hydrocarbon Extraction experience is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in hydrocarbon extraction or a related field within the cannabis industry. 
  • In-depth knowledge of hydrocarbon extraction techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols. 
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills. Proficiency in using extraction equipment and related software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Metrc are highly desirable.  
  • Thorough understanding of state and local cannabis regulations and compliance requirements. 
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products is a must. This position involves working with hazardous solvents, and dedication to safety is paramount. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively document processes and communicate with team members.

  • Understanding of workplace safety and hazard prevention practices. 
  • Adapt quickly to changes in the industry and regulatory environment. 
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry regulations and compliance requirements. 
  • Enthusiastic about the company’s product line and awareness of industry trends. 
  • Must be able to obtain a Cannabis Handler’s Permit as required by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission.
