UI / UX Designer Expert

Location: Hybrid: San Francisco, Chicago, Austin, or Denver

The User Experience and Design team is responsible for software design across mobile, web, and desktop platforms. We are a multi-disciplinary group of user experience designers, visual designers, content writers, and researchers.

The team is responsible for:

Design Consulting

1. Facilitate collaborative design sessions including sketching and ideation.
2. Lead design reviews and drive decisions.
3. Create design solutions with a multi-faceted team, taking into account how digital, physical, and service channels work together.
4. Understand great designs are achieved iteratively.
5. Visualize ideas in a clear form (sketch, diagram, wireframe, or prototype) and provide appropriate level documentation of reasoning and rationale from research and user needs.

Design Management

1. Set priorities and expectations of activities, timing & deliverables, with the project team.
2. Create and maintain design schedules.
3. Communicate status and agreements with project team.
4. Review work with UX managers, keep them updated on project status and escalate items appropriately.

Design Expertise and Execution

1. Conduct the primary design activities, create deliverables, and conduct QA at an expert level.
2. Commit to improving our process and methods with an emphasis on both effectiveness and efficiency.
3. Proactively fill in gaps in communication and effectiveness across the team.
4. Ensure adherence to Design System, understand gaps, and work towards a better tomorrow system.

Teamwork, Collaboration and Engagement

1. Work well with all partners to deliver work.
2. Support UX team members in workshops, thought leadership, and design critiques.
3. Maintain flexibility in design position when presented with new information.
4. Be enthusiastic about UX design.

Must Have:

1. 11+ years of rich interaction design focused on digital products.
2. An online portfolio demonstrating interaction design process and thinking.
3. Experienced with all aspects of a user-centered interaction design process, including:
1. User research
2. Developing user flows
3. Creating wireframes
4. Conducting usability tests
5. Creating annotated design specifications.
4. Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team within an iterative process and an Agile development methodology.
5. Proficient in design tools like Sketch, Omnigraffle, Axure.
6. Experience running design sessions with cross-functional teams.
7. Effective relationship builder—ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types.

Nice to Have:

1. 3+ years of interaction design experience for touch-based mobile interfaces is a plus.
