Job Requirements / Description

About Anyscale:

At Anyscale , we're on a mission to democratize distributed computing and make it accessible to software developers of all skill levels. We’re commercializing Ray , a popular open-source project that's creating an ecosystem of libraries for scalable machine learning. Companies like OpenAI , Uber , Spotify , Instacart , Cruise , and many more, have Ray in their tech stacks to accelerate the progress of AI applications out into the real world.

With Anyscale, we’re building the best place to run Ray, so that any developer or data scientist can scale an ML application from their laptop to the cluster without needing to be a distributed systems expert.

Proud to be backed by Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, and Addition with $250+ million raised to date.

We’re looking for a hands-on Product Manager to lead the Observability experience for the Anyscale Platform. In this role, you’ll build and scale observability solutions for machine learning developers working on workloads at a massive scale. Your work will directly impact our success, accelerate sales deals, and deliver a seamless developer experience across the platform. Help us bring observability to ML developers worldwide at a scale they’ve never seen before.

As part of this role you’ll
  • Drive the Observability Experience: Design and shape our observability stack, turning raw system signals and logs into insights for developers working on large data processing, distributed model training, online serving, and batch inference models at scale.
  • Play in a Big Sandbox: We have tons of insights from customers like Runway and Recursion , and a great playground for experimentation. You’ll take our primitives (and develop novel ones) and apply them to massive ML workloads across many different industries.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: You won’t be on your own. You’ll work closely with our ML Developer Experience (ML DevEx) team and all the Ray workload teams to deliver on the vision.
  • Embrace the Challenge: This is a high-impact opportunity with a mix of proprietary features on the Anyscale platform and adding value to the rapidly growing open-source Ray community.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
  • Education: Have a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus.
  • Industry Experience: 3+ years experience as a Product Manager in a technology-driven company, with a focus on observability.
  • Curious and Bold: You thrive in the unknown and love tackling pressing challenges.
  • Technical Insight: You understand the intricacies of observability and can translate them into actionable product strategies.
  • Customer-Centric: You’re driven by solving real-world pain points and iterating towards the best experience for users.
Compensation
  • At Anyscale, we take a market-based approach to compensation. We are data-driven, transparent, and consistent. The target salary for this role is $210,000-$254,856. As the market data changes over time, the target salary for this role may be adjusted.

This role is also eligible to participate in Anyscale's Equity and Benefits offerings, including the following:

  • Stock Options
  • Healthcare plans, with premiums covered by Anyscale at 99% for both employees and dependents.
  • 401k Retirement Plan
