The Senior Raw Materials Planner is responsible for contributing to the growth of Benjamin Moore by managing a variety of critical supply chain activities that drive accurate forecasts, generate productive raw material inventory, and promote exceptional service and shipping excellence to all Benjamin Moore customers. Recognized self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and seeks the challenge of winning in a rapidly changing marketplace.
This position requires an understanding and practical application of the following functional areas: Procurement, Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Forecasting, & Logistics. This position will be highly collaborative, working cross-functionally with other departments including all areas of the Supply Chain. This role requires a proactive and organized professional who takes ownership of his/her responsibilities and willingness to help other areas within the organization.
- Create a centralized raw material delivery schedule to prevent production disruptions
- Assist with planning of key intermediate raw materials such as colorants and resin
- Support centralized planning transformation by collaborating and identifying synergies between production schedulers and raw material coordinators.
- Generate periodic exception reports to provide visibility and insight to all stakeholders
- Harmonize demand and supply of raw materials, making recommendations for safety stock adjustments and inventory reallocation
- Plan, execute, and track raw material orders for third party vendors and internal plants
- Ability to automate legacy processes and create planning templates
- Monitor tank levels against capacity for bulk materials
- Perform monthly reconciliation of raw material inventory for subcontracted vendors; highlight and explain adjustments
- Account management and facilitation of the monthly calls with third party vendors
- Help drive accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventory process
- Review inventory turnover as it relates to safety stock and usage
- Assist in building and executing Supply Chain KPIs to benchmark supply and shipping performance
- Develop custom reports around KPIs that concentrate on problem areas and make recommendations for correction action
- Key participant in the S&OP process, balancing the production plan with raw material availability
- Revamp the operational dashboard to provide visibility to the executive suite and other functional partners
- Spearhead special supply chain projects focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and optimization
- Support change management efforts in preparation for advanced planning software implementation, help define requirements, and perform user attribute testing
- Promote data integrity and accuracy of raw material data in SAP to drive MRP
- Able to assess the bigger picture and communicate recommendations to the supply chain leadership
- Go beyond simple data collection, analyze data, recognize patterns, formulate hypotheses, and draw conclusions to tell a story
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance/Accounting, Business, Logistics, information systems or relevant fields
- 5+ years of analytical experience within a supply chain, logistics, operations, or manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently in managing multiple projects and initiatives to meet firm deadlines
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to complete more complex projects
- Excellent communication skills with strong persuasion and influencing abilities to interact with vendors effectively
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; MS Access preferred
