The Head of Publishing will be responsible for overseeing the publishing strategy and operations for Stardock's game studio. This role involves leading a team of publishing professionals, managing relationships with external partners, and ensuring the successful launch and ongoing support of our game titles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game publishing, a deep understanding of the gaming industry, and excellent leadership skills. This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan office.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and execute the publishing strategy for our game titles, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of publishing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including distributors, platform holders, and marketing agencies.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of game launches, including marketing campaigns, PR efforts, and community engagement.
  • Analyze market trends and player feedback to inform publishing strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development, marketing, and sales teams to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to game publishing.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of published titles, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the gaming market.

Education and/or Experience Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior publishing role within the gaming industry.
  • Strong understanding of game development processes and the gaming market.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful publishing strategies.
  • Experience managing relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming culture.
