We are partnered with our client to recruit a National Sales Manager for a division of their organization manufacturing high tech products for many industries including Aerospace, Energy Storage, and Industrial.
The National Sales Manager will provide leadership in strategic growth priorities for the business and sales coverage in the marketplace. They will collaborate closely with Business Development, Marketing, Customer Service, Technology, Operations, and Finance to drive growth objectives. This position will also oversee the Customer Service department to help support business from all levels.
The National Sales Manager will have credible contact with customers and prospects to continuously improve sales and position the company for participation in future applications at assigned and potential accounts. This individual will review prospective sales and present competitive proposals; coordinate new products or changes in established products; compile and submit regular reports indicative of sales activity, market conditions, and competitor activities.
In this role:
- You will develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase the percentage of key growth markets at assigned and potential accounts through multiple sales channels.
- You can lead and develop a nationwide sales team to achieve sales targets.
- You will maintain regular contact with advanced design and engineering groups at assigned accounts to determine product requirements, specifications, etc., to obtain product approvals for future participation and to identify new opportunities; make recommendations based on this information.
- As the primary contact at assigned accounts, you will determine and coordinate account needs in the areas of customer service, product approval processes, quality programs, and creative pricing formulae.
- You will continually measure competitive activity and recommend sales strategies to improve the company’s participation in the transportation market.
- Regularly submit to the Commercial Director information and analyses indicative of sales activity, sales potentials of key market competitive conditions, and changes in customer product requirements.
- You will coordinate sales activities and provide sales support when necessary at accounts in other districts.
- Determine and regularly contact buying, manufacturing, and specifying influences at assigned, prospective, and supporting accounts.
- Keep informed on the latest developments and trends in the refractories field.
- Perform various other similar or related tasks necessary to provide thorough and aggressive sales coverage in the transportation market.
- Responsible for ongoing performance management, training, development, and mentorship of sales and customer service teams.
- Ensure that processes are implemented that include collaboration with business partners.
- A successful candidate will have experience in delivering results through a robust process-driven culture.
You will be considered qualified if you possess:
- Earned a BS Degree in engineering, marketing, or business administration.
- Additional consideration given with a Master’s in Business Administration.
- 8+ years of experience in marketing and/or sales to provide sufficient knowledge of product, company functions, and administrative processes.
- Experience working with industrial products in various sales channels.
- Familiarity with computer-based word-processing and spreadsheet software.
- Able to clearly present ideas and progress reports in written and verbal format.
- Skilled in the ability to lead others and coach to performance.
