Web Copywriter

Hybrid – 3 days in office


LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a past client where we’ve made placements who have a new opening for a Web Copywriter to join their marketing team.


Our client is a consumer products company distributing products for the home. They sell through several major retail outlets and online. In this role, the Web Copywriter will work with the marketing team as well as sales, product, customer service and external partners to create content strategy and execute product content.


We’re looking for a compelling storyteller with 3-4 years of experience writing online product details and marketing copy for a consumer products or retail business, and experienced in adherence to customer and brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and cohesion.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Write and produce content for online retailers.
  • Collaborate with internal groups to setup new products and optimize content within the PIM (product information management) and customer portals.
  • Organize and manage accuracy of PIM.
  • Deliver and execute digital assets for products.
  • Develop proficient comprehension of product lines and their unique benefits/selling features.
  • Assess customer needs and competitive strengths/weaknesses to identify online market opportunities.
  • Give direction to agency partners and internal creative resources to produce visual assets according to brand/customer style guides across photography (set design, lighting, propping, etc.), infographics, copy, and video.
  • Audit and enrich item information, work to meet customer’s online content requirements, and improve online content scorecards.
  • Track and report online reviews, identifying product improvements.
  • Review instruction manuals to improve customer satisfaction and reduce returns.
  • Create, manage, and update websites that are optimized for search engines.
  • Make suggestions to drive traffic to websites and social media channels.
  • Track and report status of projects.
  • Help with the execution of online videos.
  • Monitor/analyze online marketing trends.


What’s Required

  • Minimum 4 years of online content management experience in a CPG/retail business.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or similar.
  • Able to demonstrate your resourcefulness at gathering information.
  • Able to learn or work in multiple customer and partner portals.
  • Outstanding attention to detail (double and triple check your work kind of person).
  • Strong teammate and collaborator.
  • Proactive communication capabilities with exemplary oral/written communication skills.
  • Flexible, able to move with and embrace change.
  • Technical skills: Salsify or similar PIM (preferred, not required), Illustrator, PhotoShop and InDesign capabilities are also a plus, but not required.
