Job Summary

Randstad Federal is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer in support of a contract at IRS.

Location: Frederick, Maryland

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $80 – 90 per hour

Work Hours: 8am to 4pm

Education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead our AI initiatives and drive innovation in our enterprise-level platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and large language models (LLMs).

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  1. Lead the integration of AI and LLM tools to optimize platform functionality, ensuring compliance with federal requirements.
  2. Develop advanced NLP systems to analyze user utterances and surface relevant, contextual information in real-time.
  3. Design and implement ML models to enhance user experience, automate tasks, and streamline processes.
  4. Collaborate with UI/UX designers to embed AI tools within the interface, including AI-generated call notes and assistor bots.
  5. Work with Data Integration Teams and Database Architects to ensure efficient data flow and optimize structures for AI/ML applications.
  6. Embrace Agile methodologies for efficient configuration, implementation, and continuous improvement of AI systems.
  7. Work closely with diverse teams including Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Full Stack Developers to align AI solutions with business objectives.
  8. Partner with Ethics/AI Governance SMEs to ensure responsible and compliant use of AI technologies.
  9. Monitor AI system performance, define KPIs, and make necessary adjustments to optimize platform capabilities.
  10. Provide expertise and guidance to the AI team, fostering innovation and best practices in machine learning engineering.

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
  2. Extensive experience in machine learning, deep learning, and NLP.
  3. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and working with RESTful services.
  4. Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  5. Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and big data technologies.
  6. Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping our AI strategy and implementing cutting-edge machine learning solutions that drive business value and enhance user experiences.
