TITLE: Packer C
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Packaging Technician is responsible for the proper identification of slit rolls and to ensure each roll is packed and labeled according to the customer specifications. They are also responsible for the proper use of packaging equipment, the preventive maintenance, and housekeeping of the equipment and the area.

- Ability to work as a team member
- Self-motivated and have the ability to plan ahead
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify customer requirements by reviewing specifications book
- Having the ability to identify Exception codes and use the proper packing supplies
- Must be able to print labels at the Packaging Station and how to verify the roll data for each finished roll coming off the conveyors
- Troubleshoot the Bonfanti crane and conveying system
- Operate the crane in a safe and controlled manner
- Enter data into the computer at the Packing Station
- Must be able to weigh the finished pallet and to properly apply label to pallet verifying data
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe working environment
- Interact and communicate with fellow packers, production supervisor, lead technician, and slitting technicians as required
- Ability to operate a forklift and to stack material using a forklift
- Be certified to drive to Forklift
- Assist in any function of the Slitting Department as requested by your lead operator and/or supervisor
- Review Job Description / Safety rules and practices
- Understand basic principles of packaging
- How to use the packaging crane
- Understands Packaging Codes
- Understands Exception codes
- Understands how to read the Set-up
- Understands where Packaging Supplies are located
- How to print tickets
- Learn basic functions of the Wrappers
- Loading and Unloading the Wrappers of Finished Product
- Keep area in compliance with Housekeeping Standards
- Learn basic quality checks for roll fitness
- Understand basic troubleshooting skills on packaging equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
- Loud noise
