Summary:
This is a corporate level director position that reports directly to the AVP - Corporate Controller. This position will have approximately 4 direct reports and 15 indirect reports. This position is dedicated to directing the functions of the Accounting Department by assisting with day-to-day processes of accounting and financial reporting.
Responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements.
- Providing various reporting and data analytics for all Baptist Health entities in compliance with GAAP.
- Coordinating annual financial audit and tax preparation.
- Assisting Decision Support with preparation of annual forecast/budget process.
- Managing internal controls and reimbursement/cost reports.
- Reviewing reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and g/l chart of accounts.
- Managing treasury and cash controls.
- Overseeing non-patient A/R.
- Performing HR functions for the department such as hiring, training, mentoring, and staff performance evaluations.
- Handling various special projects as assigned by Management.
This position requires strong problem-solving abilities and an advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in order to research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and business concepts with minimal oversight. A high level of communication, leadership, and technology/computer skills is required, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal oversight and in teams with non-financial personnel as well as others in the department. This position requires the ability to multi-task by managing various projects simultaneously.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation required. A Master's in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration is highly preferred, and healthcare experience is also highly preferred.
This job will be authorized for 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
