Summary:

This is a corporate level director position that reports directly to the AVP - Corporate Controller. This position will have approximately 4 direct reports and 15 indirect reports. This position is dedicated to directing the functions of the Accounting Department by assisting with day-to-day processes of accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Producing monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements.
  2. Providing various reporting and data analytics for all Baptist Health entities in compliance with GAAP.
  3. Coordinating annual financial audit and tax preparation.
  4. Assisting Decision Support with preparation of annual forecast/budget process.
  5. Managing internal controls and reimbursement/cost reports.
  6. Reviewing reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and g/l chart of accounts.
  7. Managing treasury and cash controls.
  8. Overseeing non-patient A/R.
  9. Performing HR functions for the department such as hiring, training, mentoring, and staff performance evaluations.
  10. Handling various special projects as assigned by Management.

This position requires strong problem-solving abilities and an advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in order to research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and business concepts with minimal oversight. A high level of communication, leadership, and technology/computer skills is required, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal oversight and in teams with non-financial personnel as well as others in the department. This position requires the ability to multi-task by managing various projects simultaneously.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation required. A Master's in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration is highly preferred, and healthcare experience is also highly preferred.

This job will be authorized for 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
